Sex and the City 2 Fashion Review

SATC 2 is one of the most anticipated movies of the year and finally it debut in most theaters everywhere.  Sex and the City 2 received lots of negative reviews from film critics, but this did not stop SATC fans from going to see the movie, including us.  We went to see it with an open mind and have to admit that during the first half-hour it was somewhat boring, but just like those four lovely ladies, the movie got better with time.  If there was anything insanely painful to watch it would have to be the hideous outfits Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) wore for the film.  Samantha (Kim Cattrall) and Miranda’s (Cynthia Nixon) outfits were sort of enlightening, excluding the ones above where they are ready for a circus show. Nixon, we have to say, never looked as appealing as she did in the black dress with gold studs and low v-neckline that she wore at the beginning of the film.  It was beyond breathtaking. Charlotte’s (Kristin Davis) outfits were, um…  *yawn*, to say the least. It was reported that the extensive wardrobe cost $10 million dollars, yet we don’t recall seeing more than one piece that you can define as the “million dollar dress”.

As for the film itself, we won’t give you any spoilers, (or maybe we will), but it deals with four women that are experiencing motherhood, menopause, career and marriage problems. If you were concerned, no worries, they made sure to give you lots of SEX and City, not in NY, but in Abu Dhabi (actually shot in Morocco).  Of course, if you are extremely liberal and free with uncontrolled hormones, the depiction of Abu Dhabi may not be the place for you, as it certainly wasn’t the one for Samantha who was jailed for kissing our future baby daddy (we’re giving Butler the boot) Max Ryan.  We’d do some jail time to grope the sexy silver fox ourselves.  The men in the movie were all SUPER HOT.  All in all, we won’t continue spoiling it for you, but we’d say Samantha’s character really made the film more entertaining.  We enjoyed the film as much, if not more than we did the first one.  The story gets a thumbs up if you want a good laugh (that includes mocking the horrible clothes).  The fashion in it, most certainly could have been better, so guess what gets a thumbs down?  Huge disappointment Patricia.
