Calvin Klein is an FIT alumnus (class of 1963), but the talented and successful Mr. Klein did not forget his roots. Klein recently made a donation of $1 million to the Fashion Institute of Technology, through the Calvin Klein Family Foundation, which was later matched with another $1 million by Calvin Klein, Inc., of PVH Corp. The funds will go to FIT’s Fashion Design Department (established in 1944) for their annual spring shows. Klein stated, “The annual FIT fashion show is the culmination of the very best of the fashion design students’ accomplishments during their studies at FIT. This fund is dedicated to ensure that the FIT fashion show will continue to be the students’ showcase to our industry without compromise. I am very proud that Calvin Klein, Inc. has joined my family foundation in this effort.” Cheri Fein, executive director of FIT’s Public and Media Relations writes that FIT’s President, Dr. Joyce F. Brown “is extremely proud to call Calvin Klein one of our [their] own.”  We concur.

This indeed is very kind of him. It is very few people who nurture new designers, and we are more than certain that young talent appreciates Klein’s support!

Finding the perfect bra is like finding the perfect soul mate. You go through a lot of try ons, but rarely find the right fit. I always read articles on how big breasted women have difficulty finding the right bra. But they fail to mention that small breasted women have just a tough of a time (though nine out of ten times our breasts are adequately small enough to go without a bra, but when you need one …you need one)! Oprah even gave a show on it stating that “85% of American women are wearing the wrong bra size.” I do not know why women go through the trouble of enlarging their breasts, they do look nice (I’m not hating), but the small ones are already a hassle! Finding a bra is not an easy task, and it is just as bad for small breasted women as it is for big breasted ones. I am a 34B cup. They’re not humongous (I know), but they’re natural and I’m happy with them. After searching for the right bra all those years from buying Victoria’s Secret to Oscar de la Renta, I finally found a winner. The Perfectly Fit Push-Up bra from Calvin Klein. It is incredible for women who have small chests. The push-up is absolutely wonderful and an alternative to implants. It makes my breast seem a lot larger than what they actually are. People ask me if I got work done and I reply, “Yes, from Dr. Klein.” The bra is extremely comfortable, the wire you cannot even feel, and the fabric is super soft, it comes in assorted colors and it is right under $40! Television networks aren’t content with the new Calvin Klein fragrance commercial, “Secret Obsession” featuring Eva Mendes. TV executives asked Coty (the company behind the fragrance) to make it more viewer friendly. The ads were shot by Steven Meisle and are said to debut on September. “It really taps into the secrecy of a private moment — where it’s clear that Eva is having illicit thoughts,” said Lori Singer, VP of global marketing for Coty Prestige, “It’s somewhat up to interpretation — because of how it’s shot, and what you see and hear, and what you can’t see and hear. You hear her voice, talking about having a sexy secret.” Coty doesn’t understand what the rampage is about they claim the ads and commercial aren’t any different than those of Victoria’s Secret, that is as explicit as they got.
