Well, he is quite happy, isn’t he? Newsweek magazine calls President Barack Obama “the first gay president” (with a rainbow halo and all!). The President who is rumored to be of Muslim background, but he sternly claims his Christian faith is opposing the Bible scriptures where in 1 Corinthians 6: 9-10 states, ”Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men, nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.” President Obama puts religion aside when fighting for equality for all. He feels gay couples should have the same rights as the rest of us. While this act to be humane is admirable, do you feel the President knows what is like being a minority and wants to put an end to bias in the states, or do you feel this is a political stunt since elections are right around the corner? Thoughts?
The very talented Benjamin Kanarek has done it again, gracing us with the lovely work he did for the pages of VOGUE Portugal April 2012 edition. From brights to florals these lively photos will surely lighten up your day getting you ready to embrace this Spring season. We just love his work! Can you say “Girl Power?” Yet, when reading fashion magazines I stumble upon lines such as “101 ways to please him,” or “A meal HE will LOVE you for” or something of that nature which is quite a turnoff. You will NEVER read men’s magazines with the headline, “99 ways to lick her” (which I am sure us women will appreciate!). But their magazines are about business, fitness, health and sometimes even their dogs! On the subject of animals, they should also teach them how to pet a pussy. The point is, magazines that cater to men are about ways to improve in life. And damn it, we do NOT have that!
Why must we incessantly please a man? Perhaps I am becoming an extreme feminist (contrary to popular belief, we do NOT hate men). Do NOT get me wrong. MEN are the most beautiful creatures of the earth to me! But why magazines do not empower women? Why cater to someone else? Why not love ourselves? Encourage women to be the best they can be. If a man appreciates true beauty and values a woman’s worth then they will want us just the same. I still like some of these women mags I subscribe to, but I frown upon the message they are sending. Sure, we can have tips for women about sex life, but lately it seems these are 1950′s publications catering to needy women. One more reason why I started this blog. As you can see, FashAddiX was created in PINK purposely. Who says that’s the color of weakness?
THE MESSAGE
Stay beautiful, stay wonderful, stay YOU, and please yourself first (no pun intended!). If you do not love yourself, no one is going to love you for you, even that man you tried 35,000 sexual positions with. He doesn’t need a sex robot, he needs a strong and intelligent woman by his side who values herself!
Lindsay Lohan’s cover shot for Playboyhas been leaked and although LiLo got paid nearly one million dollars to pose a la Monroe mode in “tasteful” photographs, the magazine is also cashing in. Playboy has the images available online NOW of its January/February 2012 issue, where you can see Lindsay Lohan nude with a one year membership for ONLY $5.00 per month or just a one month membership for $8.00, almost what you pay for a value meal. Eat that!
With so many run-ins with the law, it seems Lohan wants to revive and showcase her skills by tackling the job market in full frontal force. We had to ask Lindsay, “What do you think this new gig will do for your career?” Her response…
“Once again peace returns to my heart, and I have peace of mind…all I want now is to be HAPPY.” ~Adamari López tells People en Español in their 25 Most Powerful Women issue
Harper’s Bazaar España(SPAIN) September 2010 issue featuring model Bianca Balti photographed by Txema Yeste did a lovely job on their Fall spread, we love the model’s retro hair and make-up resulting in breathtaking images and fashion styling that is beyond amazing!
The very beautiful and talented EIC of VOGUE Italia, Franca Sozzani wants you to STOP believing the hype about magazine mast heads being She Devils at work, she says:
“Life at Vogue? Please forget about the Devil wears Prada. Miranda doesn’t exist! There is no time for being brats. Plus I don’t see who would take it or take “me”. In a creative world like this, each role has a precise task.” ~Franca Sozzani [via]
Damn it Sozzani, we liked the intense drama building up in our heads and now you’ve spoiled it for us! But it’s good to know a team works as a team, that’s one of the secrets to success in any company/industry you work for.
Lindsay Lohan is featured on the cover of Complex magazine latest issue appearing as a Superhero, one, unfortunately, who doesn’t have superpowers to break out of prison, and she is due to complete a two weeks sentence. Talk about being Complex, eh?! The 24-year-old actress, model and singer isn’t letting a little thing called “jail” stop her, she’s taking over the world one photoshoot at a time and looking really good while she’s at it! All the best to LiLo!
