With lip balms being so expensive, many of us get so caught up in the packaging we pay little attention to how well the product delivers. There are lip moisturizers I’ve seen retailing for $50.00 plus! The truth is, you do not need to spend a fortune to keep your lips moisturized. If you want to have kissable lips read my article on how to go from chapped lips to soft ones here. In order to keep them moist I use three lip moisturizers, one of which you may already have at home and get this they are SUPERB and CHEAP!
- I am not lying when I say that the Cocoa Butter Lip Balm is my #1 TOP FAVORITE lip moisturizer that never lets me down. I can wear it with our without makeup, it keeps my lips moist for hours, I absolutely LOVE this product and I often find it in drugstores for $1. That’s right! A buck!
- My second fave lip moisturizer is Smith’s Rosebud Salve. This salve has been around since 1895 predominantly used to help heal dry skin, diaper rash and detergent burns. I only use it on my lips to keep them soft and looking glossy. It is a MUST HAVE for me, and it lasts a long time. I’ve had mine for 6 months and I still have enough product left to last me another six. This salve can be found online and it is usually sold for $6.00.
- My third favorite is Vaseline. You can use Vaseline to moisturize your skin, eyelashes, brows, and lips in addition to aid minor cuts and burns. It is affordable and easy to find. What I don’t like about it is that I can’t wear it with lipstick, it makes the color bleed/too runny and I have to reapply repeatedly. However, I love how one can use it for multiple things. This product is always in my beauty closet.
Those are my favorites, what’s yours?
